Aqipi is an exhibition with the little spirit helper from the children’s books by the Greenlandic artist Naja Rosing-Asvid.
The exhibition shows the original drawings from the initial two books. All drawings are made by hand with coloured pencils.
In the exhibition children can draw their own spirit helper or magical creature. The exhibition shows not just the spirit helper Aqipi –some other creatures have also found their way to the exhibition.
A third Aqipi book is in the making – the first two are translated to English and can be purchased at Nuuk Art Museum.
Note that the first Aqipi-book takes place at the National Museum though in this exhibition we focus on the art and the drawings. This exhibition could be followed up by a visit to the National Museum at the Colonial Harbour.
